Canada Life Technology Fall Internship + Scholarship Award

Recipient of the 2024 Canada Life Technology Lime Fall Internship + Scholarship Award will receive $5,000 CAD scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year and a 2024 Fall-Term Internship within our Technology department at Canada Life in Winnipeg MB, London ON or Toronto ON. The Scholarship + Internship will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic background and a demonstrated passion for computer science.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • A current undergraduate student enrolled at a university or college in Canada and also;
  • Continuing current studies or intend to be enrolled in a university or college in Canada in the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree or certification or another closely related technology program.
  • Available for a Fall Internship (September to December 2024) at Canada Life from either our Winnipeg, London, or Toronto office.
  • Maintaining a strong academic performance.
  • A student with a visible or invisible disability (defined as someone who has, or considers themselves to have, a long-term, or recurring, issue that impacts one or more major activities that others may consider to be a daily function); this definition also includes the perception among others that a disability exists. We know that 90% of disabilities on campus are invisible, and candidates with all disabilities are encouraged to apply.
  • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate a commitment to and passion for computer science and technology.
  • This scholarship is not open to current high school students.


Please note: Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as students for the 2024-2025 academic year. Enrollment will be verified after the winners are selected, and all scholarship payments will be made directly to the student to be used towards tuition and education-related expenses. We will withhold the award for any scholar who no longer meets the eligibility requirements and revoke the award for any scholar who does not maintain the eligibility requirements. Recipients may defer their award for up to one (1) year from the time of originally planned payment on a case-by-case basis as determined by Canada Life.

  • One essay 1-2 pages: Answering the following questions:
    1. What does “Rebranding Disability through achievement” mean to you?
    2. Describe what impact your disability has had on your life?
    3. Why are you interested in the Canada Life Lime Connect Internship and Scholarship?
    4. What excites you about technology?
  • One letter of recommendation from professors, advisers, or supervisors (due June 2nd)

The Application Timeline:

  • Applications will be open on Tuesday, May 7th and will close Tuesday, May 28th at midnight EST (letters of recommendation are due June 2nd).
  • For those finalists selected, interviews will take place end of June / early July.
  • Selected receipt will be offered at end of July.
